The service was great. We ordered the Chile relleno and the Ropa vieja. The Chile relleno was very good with rice and beans. In the future I will pass on their rendition of Ropa vieja.
Great service and the food was very good. The carnitas were nicely fried and not too fatty unlike other places. Their beans were sooooo good. They had bacon and other spices in them and they were some of the best beans I've ever had. The others in my party were also happy with their choices, including the breakfast bocaditos which were different from what we had previously but also tasty. I can't wait to try the caldo and albondigas next time! The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. A great option in the area.
I was introduced to La Cabiñita by a dear friend years ago, her son ordered the soup for dinner - I thought it was interesting that he would order just soup for a meal. It ends up this soup has become my favorite soup ever! I ordered: Dos Equis Lager - $8 - draft - served in a glass mug - cold and refreshing! Caldo De Pollo - Cup - $9.33 - Chicken broth with vegetables, rice and shredded chicken breast with two homemade corn tortillas. There are big chunks of potato and carrot, and a generous portion of avocado. If you get the larger 'bowl' size, you get a corn on the cob piece Enchiladas de Mole - $20.74 - Three corn tortillas filled with chicken breast or cheese, topped with their special mole sauce, onions and cheese. served with rice and black beans. beans are garnished with mexican cheese. Flan - $8.29 The soup is really the winner here! - so fresh, so well prepared and it feels so nourishing and healthy!
The food is delicious and has big portions per plate. The service is fireman's helpful. It is a friendly place to grab great Mexican food and has a very comforting feel to the place.
Always make a stop at La Cabanita when in town. 25 or so years of enjoying the Enchiladas verde and the tomatillo salsa. I carry my leftovers home on the plane with me and either freeze the salsa and carry it on or pack it in my checked suitcase. This family restaurant never disappoints. If something isn't quite right the offer to fix it right away. Love this place.
BEST Red & Green Salsa i've ever had! So fresh n tasty and same for their chips! Ordered a combination plate and side tostada.
Still the best Mexican Restaurant that I know of. My family and I regularly come from the OC to eat here. Mainly because we have never found a place nearer to us that comes close in terms of quality. The service is always excellent, the food arrives quickly and it is always delicious! The chips and two salsas before the meal are second to none and unlike some restaurants, La Cabanita just keeps refilling your bowl. The restaurant itself is always clean and they have maintained the same comfortable ambience for many years. La Cabanita is the best! I can't say enough good things about it. Love this place!!
DELICIOUS pastor tacos, breakfast burritos, chips and salsa. I'm sure their other items are great too but that's all I've tried. Highly recommend for fair prices and tasty Mexican food and breakfast burritos.
This has been a local favorite for sometime. I haven't been here in 5-7 years, so it was nice to revisit. I enjoyed my meal very much. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Ordered the street tacos, also the green cheese enchiladas, along with a Pina colada. Street tacos very flavorful and very filling. Husband enjoyed the cheese enchiladas. Chips were fresh and crunch. Nice to have both green and red salads at the table. Two complaints. Pina colada lacked alcohol. Felt like I was drinking a coconut smoothie. Ladies bathroom was not clean. Price for two was $51.00 not including tip. Sadly that's reasonably these days.
